The Generative Brain

About

The Generative Brain is an independent, non-commercial site that gives general information about CJD and prion diseases for families, clinicians and researchers. It does not give medical advice.

This site explains Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD) and other prion diseases in plain words, and points to the research behind them. It is independent and non-commercial. It is written for families, for clinicians and for researchers, and all three share one collection of facts, called the Atlas. You can start at the home page or follow the section links below.

The pages in this section describe how the site works: what it is for, who is behind it, how it chooses and checks sources, how it uses AI, how reviews are shown, how to report a mistake, and where its money comes from. Recent changes are listed on what changed. The pages are listed below, starting with the mission and who we are. Policy pages include editorial policy, how we use AI, sources and evidence, reviewers, corrections, funding and independence and the charter.
